Online Messaging Service
This was the first project that EvasWish undertook and was the idea that started CEO Eva down this wonderful path. As she says in EvasWish A History the idea for this service had been bubbling away in the back of her mind for years. It was just a spark at first, an idea existing purely in her subconscious until one day when she was in the car with a dear friend of hers, Wellington City Councillor Simon Woolf, it became something more. They were at a red light when he asked her what she wanted to do with the time she had left. Eva replied “Change the world.” He then told her to answer more specifically before the light turned green. Eva ummed and panicked before suddenly blurting out something along the lines of “I want New Zealand to have an online messaging service for people affected by sexual violence.”
In July of 2016 Eva posted a video online with the backing of HELP: Auckland, asking the government to create this online messaging service. They responded and said yes!
